Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Saturday chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium to assess the progress of various development projects under Untied Fund, DMFT, NITI Aayog Fund, MP/MLA Land, and CSR. Expressing dissatisfaction over delays, he warned that accountability would be fixed on officials for unnecessary lapses and directed immediate blacklisting of negligent contractors.
The review covered projects including bridges, access roads, PCC roads, drinking water facilities, construction of additional school rooms, toilets, guard walls around ponds, and culverts. The Deputy Commissioner instructed all departments to submit technical inspection reports for incomplete works and ensure strict adherence to deadlines.
Under the District Plan Untied Fund, two schemes from 2023-24 remain incomplete. Of the 117 schemes approved in 2024-25, 63 have been completed while 54 are still pending. For 2025-26, out of 59 approved schemes, only one is complete so far. The Deputy Commissioner directed implementing agencies to ensure 100% expenditure of pending schemes by February 28, 2026.
Under the NITI Aayog Fund (2023-24), six schemes are underway, including a sal leaf plate and cup production unit, strengthening of model Anganwadi centres in tribal areas, food carts for women and transgenders, a library-cum-resource centre, and construction of kitchen rooms in 68 schools. For 2025-26, proposals for seven new schemes—covering self-employment, women’s empowerment, and education, including a science centre and bamboo artisan training centre—have been submitted to the Government of India.
Reviewing the DMFT head, officials reported that of the 428 schemes sanctioned from 2021-22 to 2025-26, 328 have been completed, 95 remain incomplete, and five were cancelled due to technical issues. The Deputy Commissioner ordered the concerned engineers to expedite all pending works.
In reviewing MP-MLA fund schemes, he directed departments to prioritize projects recommended by public representatives, ensuring transparency and timely execution. Projects under the Sports and Tourism Department were also reviewed, with fresh guidelines issued for faster implementation.
Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Director NEP Santosh Garg, In-charge District Planning Officer Sudipt Raj, along with officials from NREP, Special Division, Building Construction, Drinking Water and Sanitation, District Council, and other departments attended the meeting.
