Jamshedpur: In a bid to provide speedy redressal of public grievances, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal held a Janta Darbar at the Collectorate office. The initiative aimed at directly connecting with citizens and addressing their concerns on the spot received a significant response from residents across various blocks of the district.
During the public hearing, individuals raised issues related to community centers, blocked drains, ration card discrepancies, illegal land encroachments by mafias, family disputes, embezzlement in land deals, land ownership conflicts, and road construction, among others. Citizens highlighted personal as well as community-level grievances, seeking administrative support.
Taking serious note of each complaint, the Deputy Commissioner gave on-the-spot directions for immediate disposal of several cases. For matters requiring further inquiry, officials from the relevant departments were instructed to conduct prompt investigations and resolve the issues within a stipulated time frame.
Mittal also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, instructing officers to keep applicants informed about the progress of their cases. “Applicants have the right to know the status of their complaints. Keeping them updated strengthens trust in the system,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Magistrate reiterated that the primary objective of the Janta Darbar is to offer a platform for the common public to voice their concerns and receive swift solutions. He assured citizens that the district administration remains committed to public welfare and timely grievance redressal.
The initiative reflects a people-centric approach to governance, reinforcing administrative accessibility and accountability.
