Jamshedpur Covid-19 cases tick upward once more

With 9 new positives, active cases rise to 43

Jamshedpur, Nov 22: A month ago, new Coronavirus cases in Jamshedpur were ticking steadily downward but as Covid restrictions have been removed citizens are crowding at market places, big fat Indian weddings are taking place and restaurants are being operated with full capacity, new virus cases are rising once more. Urban area of the city has been reporting surge in cases. Nine new cases have come up six different locations of the city on Monday, November 22. Two cases each were reported from Patamda, Mango, Baridih and one each from Sakchi, Sonari and Bistupur.

4967 samples were tested on Monday of which 9 came out positive.

Seven positive cases have come up against 3868 RTPCR test. Of the 211 TrueNat samples tested 1 was found positive while 1 positive was found in 888 RAT test.    

The Coronavirus tally in Jamshedpur has risen to 52086.

With three fresh recoveries on Monday, a total number of 50,982 patients have been discharged since the breakout while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 43.

Recovery rate is 97.90% while mortality rate is 2.04 %.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 683861 tests per million in the district. 

So far in Jamshedpur 1837388 samples have been collected out of which 1820438 have been tested and 1768352 have turned out to be negative. One death has been recorded in November due to the virus.
