Jamshedpur, June 16: A delegation of citizens of Jugsalai met the general manager (GM) of electricity department, Paritosh Kumar, on Thursday and demanded relief from frequent power cuts.
Leading the delegation, Sardar Shailendra Singh, president of Nagrik Sangharsh Samiti, said, “We apprised the GM about the power woes of the people of Jugsalai. Everyday there is no electricity for hours at a stretch. This is making life difficult and hellish for the local population as they are unable to catch a sleep at night. Children are unable to study. This is also resulting in water scarcity since pumps are not working in the absence of electricity.”
The outfit members also demanded immediate replacement of dilapidated electricity wires in Safiganj Mohulla of Jugsalai. They said the GM had assured to fulfill their demands as soon as possible.
