Jamshedpur, May 3: Weather department has predicted rainy respite from the scorching weather for the next one week.
As per Met Office sources, Jharkhand will witness cyclonic circulation till 9th May. Consequently, cloudy sky would be witnessed in different parts of the state. Partial rains may occur at some places. Surface winds may also be witnessed, sources said.
In Jamshedpur, the mercury fell down by 2.5 degree Celsius. The day time temperature was recorded at 34.8 degree Celsius. Today was the second consecutive day of relief from unbearable heat as the weather turned out to be much milder and mellowed down. The city recorded a rainfall of 6 mm. On Sunday last, 17.2 mm rainfall was recorded in the city. Today was the second day of partial rain in the ongoing month of May.
According to weather department, “A change in the synoptic feature has been brought about by trough run in Rajasthan, Manipur, Punjab, Bangladesh and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.”
Today, Sahebganj recorded the maximum rainfall of 65.4 mm among all states of Jharkhand, sources said.
Met soures said the maximum temperature of the city is expected to be 38 degree while the minimum temperature would be 24 degree Celsius. Skies would be generally cloudy and rain accompanied by thunder can be expected once or twice. On 5th May, similar temperature has been predicted while on 6th May, the minimum temperature may rise by two degrees. Dust storm is also expected, sources said.
Met officials said the maximum temperature on 7th May will be 37 degrees while the minimum temperature would be 26 degrees. Thunder and lightning are also expected. On 8th and 9th May, more or less the same weather will persist, officials said.
