Jamshedpur, April 8: A 19 year-old youth, identified as Vishwajeet Singh, died in a tragic road accident in Kapali (Seraikela-Kharsawan) on Thursday. He was a resident of Kadma Ramnagar.
Sources said the mishap occurred when a speeding tipper truck ran over the teenager near Pudisili. Vishwajeet was going to Chandil to take his ongoing Intermediate exams at JKS Inter College, Adardih. He was critically injured in the incident and his bike was badly damaged. He was taken to MGM Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The truck driver escaped from the scene before local residents could rush to the spot, sources said.
Local villagers alleged that rash driving by the heavy vehicle driver led to the incident.
