Jamshedpur block Panchayat members tender mass resignation

Jamshedpur: Members of all panchayat committees of Jamshedpur block today tendered their mass resignation to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum to protest alleged dictatorial attitude of the block development officer.

The delegation of panchayat committee members alleged that the BDO deliberately suppressed files of various projects and treated them with unfavourable attitude. They said the BDO should be removed from his office as he had forced them to tender their resignation on a mass basis.

�It is disappointing to know that the BDO does not have a positive attitude towards us and the various projects. He treats us negligently and also keeps the files of various projects up to himself without any rhyme or reason,� alleged the panchayat committee members.

The delegation members were led by Bulu Rani Singh. A four-point memorandum was handed over to the DC by the committee members.

The committee members said the BDO was not giving approval to the new projects and plans under the 13th Finance Commission under the panchayat committee head.
