Jamshedpur BJP slams Banna Gupta over remarks on RSS, demands apology

Jamshedpur: The BJP has strongly condemned Congress leader and former Jharkhand minister Banna Gupta for his recent remarks on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during the Congress National Convention held in Gujarat.
In a press statement released on Friday, BJP Jamshedpur President Sudhanshu Ojha termed Gupta’s comments as false, shameful, and filled with hatred. Ojha stated that the remarks reflect Banna Gupta’s narrow mindset and political bankruptcy.
“This is a deliberate attempt to spread venom in society and malign nationalist organisations,” said Ojha. He further asserted that the statement was not just an insult to the millions of dedicated RSS volunteers but also a direct attack on the nation’s cultural heritage, nationalist ethos, and social unity.
Ojha described Banna Gupta as a leader who resorts to lies and provocative statements to revive his failed political career. He added, “Such leaders are a blot on democracy and society. The RSS has always served the nation selflessly—whether during times of disaster, war, or social reform—without seeking publicity.”
The BJP leader demanded an immediate public apology from Banna Gupta to the RSS and the people of India. “If he fails to apologise, it will be evident that he is working at the behest of anti-national forces,” Ojha warned.
He also cautioned Gupta to control his rhetoric, adding that if such divisive and baseless allegations continue, BJP workers will take to the streets and respond democratically and legally. “The people of this country are aware and well-informed. They will give a befitting reply to such misleading and divisive leaders when the time comes,” he said.
