Jamshedpur sizzles at 39.4°C as rain offers relief from April 4

Jamshedpur, April 3 : The state continued to reel under intensifying heatwave conditions on April 3, with clear skies and dry weather pushing temperatures higher across regions.
A shift in weather is expected from April 4, bringing partly cloudy skies and the likelihood of light to moderate rain or thunderstorms at isolated places over north-western and central areas.

These may be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph.
The outlook suggests similar conditions on April 5 over northern parts, while April 6 may witness more widespread rain or thunderstorm activity across most regions, barring the north-western belt.
No major weather warning has been issued for April 5.

Meanwhile, the mercury has risen sharply over the past two days. Jamshedpur, for the second consecutive day, recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4°C. Daltonganj and Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum touched an oppressive 40°C mark, while the state capital Ranchi registered 35.8°C.
Residents across cities reported growing discomfort due to the persistent heat. “The afternoons are becoming increasingly harsh, making even routine outdoor work quite draining,” said a local resident.
Another resident expressed cautious optimism, noting, “If the forecast holds true, the expected showers this weekend should bring some much-needed respite from the prolonged heat spell.”
