State Government committed to women empowerment: Sanjib Sardar
Jamshedpur: In a grand event held at the Dumaria Block Office auditorium in East Singhbhum district, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar distributed smartphones among 97 Anganwadi workers. During the occasion, various assets and sanction letters under different government schemes were also handed over to beneficiaries.
Speaking at the event, MLA Sanjib Sardar said, “This is the age of technology, and our government is committed to empowering women. These smartphones will not only simplify your work but will also help in collecting and utilizing data related to women and children.”

Under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, sanction letters were provided to eligible beneficiaries. Newly appointed Anganwadi workers also received their appointment letters. Through JSLPS, cheques worth lakhs of rupees were distributed to women’s self-help groups to promote financial independence.
In addition, schoolgirls were given sanction letters and bicycles under the Kishori Samriddhi Yojana. The MLA also performed traditional rituals like Godh Bharai (baby shower) by presenting fruits to pregnant women and conducted Annaprashan ceremonies by feeding sweet porridge (kheer) to infants.
Circle Officer Pawan Kumar highlighted the importance of smartphones, stating, “Their use will speed up monitoring and implementation of welfare schemes, ensuring timely benefits to the people.”
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Anganwadi workers and JSLPS women welcomed MLA Sanjib Sardar with garlands and crowns made of leaves, following tribal customs.
Present at the event were Block Development Officer Nilesh Kumar Murmu, Circle Officer and Acting Child Development Officer Pawan Kumar, JMM Block President Mirza Soren, Twenty-Point Programme Chairman Bhagat Baske, Bhagat Hansda, Arjun Murmu, Uday Murmu, panchayat representatives, Anganwadi workers, and several block and circle office staff.
