Jamshedpur: Awareness drive on loan waiver for farmers launched

Jamshedpur, Dec 14: An awareness campaign was launched for the farmers of various blocks across East Singhbhum here on Wednesday with the view to inform them about the state government’s loan waiver scheme meant exclusively for them. A vehicle specially designed for the purpose was jointly flagged off today at the district agriculture office, Khasmahal, in the presence of the District Agriculture Officer cum Project Director, ATMA Mithilesh Kumar Kalindi and District Horticulture Officer Anima Lakra.

Kalindi said the agriculture loan waiver scheme was an ambitious scheme of the Jharkhand farmers. The farmers are required to go to their local Pragya Kendra for EKYC formalities. They have been asked to carry their ration card, Kisan Credit Card, bank passbook and Aadhaar Card, he said.

The awareness vehicle will visit villages in all 11 blocks of the district and inform the farmers about the scheme. Krishi Chaupal would also be organized in the panchayats. Farmers would also be informed about Prime Minister Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, soil testing and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, sources said.
