Jamshedpur, July 2: Suman Prasad, a talented artist from Jamshedpur, experienced a remarkable and unforgettable day when her painting caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election campaign. Despite initial challenges, her perseverance led to special recognition from the PM.
On that occasion, Suman Prasad attempted to present a 3-foot painting as a gift to PM Modi. However, due to its size, she initially faced restrictions. Undeterred, she persisted and eventually, with the support of police and organizers, her painting was accepted after PM Modi personally acknowledged it in front of a large audience.
PM Modi remarked, “A daughter has brought a beautiful painting here. Let the SPG officers take her painting. Write your name and I will write you a letter.” Following this public acknowledgment, an officer from the Special Protection Group received the painting.
Remarkably, within 40 days, Suman Prasad received a call from the Prime Minister’s Office confirming receipt of her painting and requesting her for details. On June 29, while Suman was in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, a letter from Prime Minister Modi reached her home, received by her mother. This recognition has brought immense pride and joy to her family.
Expressing her gratitude, Suman Prasad said, “This is a moment of great honor for me. Prime Minister Modi not only saw my painting but also fulfilled his promise. This recognition is incredibly inspiring and a matter of pride for me and my family.” The painting now holds a special place in the Prime Minister’s collection, highlighting the talent of artists across the country and the significance of their creations.
