Jamshedpur administration lauded for ensuring harmony during Ram Navami

Jamshedpur: The vibrant and devotional Shri Ram Navami Flag Immersion Procession, a cherished symbol of Indian cultural heritage, concluded peacefully in Sonari with hundreds of devotees participating in the grand culmination of the festivities. The event marked the traditional Dashami flag immersion, a practice steeped in history and spiritual fervor.

As in previous years, a dedicated service camp was set up at Sonari Ram Mandir Chowk under the guidance of Sudhir Kumar Pappu, Secretary of Sonari Thana Shanti Samiti. The camp provided essential support and coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the immersion procession.

Prominent dignitaries including Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Thakur, Sonari Police Station Incharge Sarju Anand, Central Akhara Samiti President Arun Singh, and Secretary Sudhir Kumar Pappu were honoured with Ang Vastra and symbolic swords by committee members Rahul Bhattacharjee, Ashok Singh, Arvind Singh, Satish Sharma, and Bholanath Sahu.

This year, a total of 19 licensed Akharas and 6 unlicensed Akhara Samitis from Sonari participated in the procession. The flag processions were systematically organized with numbered entries to maintain discipline and ensure a smooth path to the Kapali Visarjan Ghat. Members of the Sonari Thana Shanti Samiti worked tirelessly throughout the day, escorting the processions and providing logistical support.

The service camp was also equipped with first-aid and emergency medical facilities, ready to handle any untoward incidents promptly. The preparedness and proactive approach of the Peace Committee ensured a safe and injury-free immersion.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the district administration, police, and local volunteers for their cooperation in ensuring a peaceful and spiritual conclusion to the Ram Navami celebrations.

“The peaceful Dashami immersion is a testament to the communal harmony and tireless dedication of our volunteers and officials. I thank everyone who stood together in service and devotion,” said Pappu.

Among the many who contributed their time and energy were:  D. Bose, Rahul Bhattacharya, Sarabjit Singh alias Bobby, Kabi Behera, Charanjit Singh, Sonu Sardar, Gautam Acharya, Abhishek Prasad, Somu Sarkar, Harishchandra Sahu, Usha Yadav, Sarita, Mohammad Azad, Naresh Jain, Kalu Da, Hari Das, and several others. Their dedication and discipline set a shining example of public service during religious events.
