Jamshedpur Administration earmarks 23 bus routes

Jamshedpur : A crucial District Level Committee meeting convened under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, focusing on the implementation of the Chief Minister Gram Gaadi Yojana. The committee approved 23 proposed bus routes spanning 10 blocks (excluding Jamshedpur Sadar), marking the initiation of the first phase on November 15, with 15 buses set to operate.
The comprehensive approach targets improved accessibility for residents of remote rural areas, incorporating essential locations such as hospitals, colleges, markets, railway stations, blocks, and district headquarters in the bus routes. The meeting witnessed the participation of District Transport Officer Shri Dhananjay, District Public Relations Officer Shri Rohit Kumar, and representatives from the Bus Owners Association. Additionally, District Panchayat Raj Officer and all Block Development Officers joined the discussion through video conferencing.
Manjunath Bhajantri highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing rural and remote road transport. The meticulously planned routes aim to connect villages with vital facilities like hospitals, schools, colleges, weekly markets, local markets, railway stations, public places, blocks, sub-divisions, and district headquarters. The inaugural phase, commencing on the state’s foundation day, November 15, 2023, will provide free travel for senior citizens, students, disabled individuals, HIV positive patients, widows, and Jharkhand agitators on the designated 15 routes. This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to creating an inclusive and accessible transportation system for rural communities.
