Ranchi, Nov 3: In a pre-Diwali gesture, the Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand has bestowed a substantial gift upon its employees and pensioners. The government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) by 4 percent for state employees, effectively bringing it in line with the DA received by central government employees. This decision was made during a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and the increased DA will be retroactive to July 1, 2023. State government employees will now enjoy a 46 percent dearness allowance, ensuring their compensation aligns with that of their central government counterparts.

The Cabinet meeting also approved 23 other proposals, including the ‘Mukhyamantri Ujjwal Jharkhand Yojana,’ a new scheme aimed at providing electricity to homes in rural and urban areas where it is not currently available. An allocation of Rs 1,485 crore has been earmarked for this initiative.

Furthermore, the government has committed to providing commercial pilot and Airbus operations training to 30 eligible candidates annually at Dumka Airport in the state. Of these, the state government will cover the training fees for 15 candidates. The training program is set to cost Rs 9 crore and Rs 10 lakh, with candidates being selected through an examination process.

The Cabinet meeting featured a total of 23 proposals, each with significant implications for the state. Among the notable decisions were:

Dhanbad Women’s Polytechnic Funding: An allocation of 37 crores has been approved for Dhanbad Women’s Polytechnic.

Flyover Connectivity: An allocation of 213.35 crore rupees was approved for connecting the Kantatoli and Siram Toli flyovers.

Jharkhand Police Radio Operator Regulations: Approval for the Jharkhand Police Radio Operator Niyamawali.

Part-Time Teachers’ Extension: Extension of the contracts for part-time teachers working in residential schools under the Welfare Department for one year.

Mukhya Mantri Ujjwal Jharkhand Scheme: Launch of the Chief Minister Ujjwal Jharkhand Scheme with an allocation of 1,485.39 crore rupees. The scheme aims to provide electricity to homes in rural and urban areas currently lacking access to electricity.

Re-Employment of Teachers: Approval for the re-employment of teachers appointed by the Management Committee in project schools between 1981 and 1984, who were invalidated.

Amendments in Wireless Inspector Appointment Rules: Changes in Wireless Inspector Appointment Rules.

Collabier Scheme Funding: Approval for 35.75 crores for the Collabier scheme in Chatra district and 42.34 lakhs for the Ghaghri Collabier scheme in Latehar.

Rejection of Appeal Application: The appeal application against the punishment given to Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer in Godda, was rejected.

Funding for Handling Rape and POCSO Cases: Allocation of 3,62,82,500 rupees for handling rape and POCSO cases in the financial year 2023-24.

PPP Terms and Conditions Changes: Amendments in the terms and conditions of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the operation of ITIs.

MSTC Selection for Heavy Machinery Operation: Selection of MSTC for heavy machinery operation planning and training.

Recognition for Assistant Teachers: Approval for providing recognition to assistant teachers in schools.

Part-Time Teachers’ One-Year Extension: One-term extension for part-time teachers of the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.

Retrospective Financial Benefits: Approval for providing financial benefits with retrospective effect to Parmeshwar Munda, DRDA Deoghar, from 6/7/15.

Restructuring of Clerks and Orderlies: Approval for the restructuring of clerks and orderlies in the School Education and Literacy Department.

Commercial Pilot Training: Approval for free training of commercial piloting at Dumka Airport for 30 individuals, who will be selected through an examination.

Special Allowance for STF Personnel: Approval of a special allowance for all police officers and personnel working in the Special Task Force (STF) in the wake of the seventh Pay Revision Commission (PRC).

Solid Waste Management Funding: Allocation of 105 crore 15 lakh rupees for solid waste management under Basukinath Nagar Panchayat.

Dearness Allowance Increase: Increase of the dearness allowance for state government employees from 42 to 46.

Vachanaghat and Chaibasa Road Funding: Approval of 35,63,26,523 rupees for the Vachanaghat and Chaibasa Rajnagar main road in Seraikela Kharsawan district.

Direct Appointment of District Judges: Approval for the direct appointment of 13 candidates to the post of District Judge under Jharkhand Senior Judicial Service
