Jamshedpur, Aug 10: A speeding trailer truck mowed down a motorcyclist and injured five persons critically on the Tata-Patamada main road near Bamni on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ravi Hansda (18), resident of Bandhtodiya village of Lachchipur panchayat under Patamada police station area. The injured victims include Somai Hansda, Shakuntala Pramanik, Taramani Mahato and Durga Manjhi. The fifth victim could not be identified.

Sources said the truck knocked down a pick-up van and two motorcycles on the Tata-Patamada main road in the afternoon. The truck first hit the van and then took the two bikes in its spate before ramming into a roadside house belonging to one Dukhni Soren.
Patamada Circle Inspector Heeralal Mahato and the SHO of the local police station Ashok Ram visited the accident scene and sent the victims to MGM Hospital.
