Jamshedpur, July 27: Parents came out on the road on Wednesday against the expulsion of three students belonging to weaker and disadvantaged sections from DBMS High School, Kadma, Jamshedpur.
Under the banner of Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh, the parents demonstrated in front of the District Education Officer and District Education Superintendent’s office.
During this a memorandum was handed over to both the office bearers and a demand was made to take action against the school management. Leading the parents, sangh president Umesh Kumar said that under section 12 (1) (c) of the Right to Education Act 2009, pre-enrollment of children belonging to disadvantaged and weaker sections on reserved seats in the entrance class of DBMS High School.
The student complained that after coming in the ninth grade, the school management has been continuously demanding fees from these children since the beginning of this session (2023-24), these children have been getting free education till the eighth grade of this school. The financial condition of the parents of these children is not such that they can pay the fees and now since last 22nd July, Pinky Kumari (registration no. 0154/12) 2), Pushpa Tantubai (registration no. 0157/12) due to non-payment of fees by the school management.
And Krishna Bodra (registration number 0159/12) has been banned from coming to school. He said that the new National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented by the Government of India in the entire country. If it is studied deeply, it will be found that in clause 8-8 of this law, free education has to be given to the children of deprived and weaker sections till class 12th.
