Jamshedpur, May 13: On Saturday, the Jamshedpur Abhibhavak Sangh met the deputy commissioner regarding the demand of giving free education till class 12 to the deprived and weaker section children who went to class 9th in private schools as per the provision of the new National Education Policy-2020.
They said that new National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented in the entire country. Provisions have been made in paragraph 8-8 of the new National Education Policy 2020 that children belonging to deprived and weaker sections are to be given free education up to class 12.
Under the RTE Act 2009, the children of disadvantaged and weaker sections enrolled in different private schools of Jamshedpur city, who have now passed class 8 and gone to class 9th, private school management has started demanding school fees from those children.
They told that the school management is demanding fees by saying that the children of this class should be given the right to get free education till class 8th only.
They claimed that they have placed their demand before the district administration on 12 December 2022, but till now their demands have not been fulfilled.
