Jamshedpur : 25 yrs RI for indecent act with minor

Jamshedpur, April 15: The court has sentenced Rahul Rajak to 25 years imprisonment for indecent act with a four-year-old girl in Sido-Kanhu Basti under Sonari police station. While hearing the case on Saturday, ADJ 1 cum Special POCSO Judge Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay sentenced the convict to 25 years rigorous imprisonment under Section 6 of POCSO and also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on Rahul. For non-payment of the fine, an additional two years’ imprisonment has been given. Earlier, the court had convicted Rahul on Tuesday.

The incident is of 14 March 2020. The girl was playing in front of the house on the day of the incident. While playing, the girl went to the house of accused Rahul Rajak. When she returned home at two o’clock in the afternoon, the girl started crying and told the whole thing to her family members. When the relatives went to the accused with a complaint about this, the family members were abused and threatened. After that the matter reached Sonari police station.
