IWC West holds menstrual hygiene awareness program

Jamshedpur: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur West conducted an awareness program on menstrual hygiene at Tata Worker’s Union high school, Kadma on Wednesday.

Dr Prakriti Mishra from Tata Main Hospital (TMH) spoke on the subject educating the girls about hygiene that needs to be kept during their menstrual cycle. She said that in our country all the reproductive diseases are caused by poor menstrual hygiene.

She also gave consultation on the problems faced by the students during their cycles and counselled them to ensure and promote better women health. Iron tonics were distributed amongst the girls. The project was a great step towards providing better health among the students and has around 100 girls as beneficiaries.

This is a great step taken by the club for better upliftment of the future generations.

IWC of Jamshedpur West had already installed sanitary pad wending machine in the school. Vice president Mausumi Roy, Purabi Ghosh and Secretary Nibha Mishra were present from the club.
