Jamshedpur, March 23: The two-day International Conference on Dry Beneficiation (DRYBEN 2026) began at Beldih Club in Jamshedpur with participation from industry experts, academicians, researchers, and technology providers from India and abroad.
The conference is being organised by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter. It aims to promote knowledge sharing and advancements in dry beneficiation technologies for mineral and coal processing.

The inaugural session was attended by senior officials including Sandeep Kumar, Vice President – Raw Materials, Tata Steel; Dipankar Dasgupta, EIC IBMD; Atanu Ranjan Pal, Chief Technology Officer – Process and Chairman of IIM Jamshedpur Chapter; and Veerendra Singh, Conference Convenor.
More than 240 delegates are participating in the event, making it a major platform for technical discussions and exchange of ideas. The first day featured a plenary session followed by technical sessions on sorting technologies, comminution, and dry gravity concentration, along with a panel discussion on future strategies.

The second day will include four technical sessions focusing on dry gravity separation, electrostatic and magnetic technologies, and supporting systems like dust extraction, pneumatic conveying, and drying solutions.
