Institution of Engineers Jamshedpur inaugurates AISIT 2023 at SNTI

Experts convene to drive innovation and sustainable solutions across industries

 Jamshedpur, Nov 27: The two-day All India Seminar on Innovation & Technology (AISIT) in Manufacturing & Asset Management for Steel Industry organised by The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), Jamshedpur Local Centre in association with Tata Steel was inaugurated today at SNTI.  Avneesh Gupta, FIE (Fellow of the Institution of Engineers) and Vice President TQM and Engineering & Projects, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Dr S Venugopal, Director, NIT Nagaland graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Present during the occasion were Probal Ghosh, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel and Shivanand Roy, President, IEI.

This seminar is intended to provide a common platform and bring together Researchers, Academicians, Scientists, Industrial Practicing Engineers, students, and OEMs to exchange and share their knowledge about innovative technologies and present new research findings for the productivity improvement and sustainable development. Environmental responsibility, safety, digital transformation, robotics are the avenues as well as needs of modern business sectors. The theme of the seminar is emerging maintenance technology, smart manufacturing, innovative tools & tackles for equipment in steel industries.

The seminar has garnered interest form several industries including major steel industries like SAIL, Arcelor Mittal, JSW, JSPL, Vizag Steel etc., academic Institutions like IITs and NITs and R & D Organizations as well as from government organisations like ISRO, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) etc.

Some of the major OEM’s like ABB, PAMA, Artha Wear Tech, Parker & Grip Strapping Technologies Pvt Ltd etc will participate in the seminar & over 60 vendor partners will also be exhibiting their products and services related to the theme of the seminar in addition to the technical sessions.

This seminar will help in cross learning between industries and the academia can identify the opportunities and challenges to work upon in their research facilities.  Around 300 delegates will be attending the seminar and deliberate over the challenges, opportunities and improvements happening in the seminar through 60 nos of oral technical paper presentations on various themes like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics & connected assets. Over the 2 days, there will be 12 technical sessions and each session will have 5 presentations. These technical sessions will be conducted at SNTI. The topics include Robotics, AI & IoT, Innovation & New Technology, Condition Monitoring & Asset Management among others.
