Jamshedpur: Dr Debashish Bhattacharjee, Vice President (Technology and R&D) at Tata Steel, has been conferred the National Metallurgist Award 2022 by the Ministry of Steel in recognition of his significant contributions in the overall development of sustainable technologies and materials.
A leader in sustainable technologies, he spearheads teams driving innovation in steels, composites, ceramics, and graphene. Dr Bhattacharjee’s notable contributions include innovations in mineral beneficiation, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and creating valuable products from steelmaking by-products.
Dr Bhattacharjee has more than 50 peer-reviewed international journal publications, more than 20 patents, and 5 co-authored books underscoring his influence in Industry.
