Ranchi: The voter turnout in the Jharkhand Assembly elections has seen a significant increase in 64 constituencies compared to the 2019 elections. Notably, 19 seats witnessed a rise of over 6 percent in voter participation. Khunti recorded the highest increase, with a 6.81 percent higher turnout than in 2019. Other constituencies with notable increases include Kharsawan (6.24 percent), Ghatshila (5.82 percent), Tamar (5.57 percent), and Khijri (5.1 percent). Other areas, such as Chhatarpur, Mandar, Koderma, Saraikela, Simdega, Potka, and Simaria, also saw over 4 percent more voter participation.
However, 17 constituencies experienced a decline in voter turnout compared to the 2019 elections. These seats include Barhet, Sarath, Silli, Jamtara, Chandankyari, Pakur, Sindri, Podiyahat, Gomia, Rajmahal, Mahagama, Bagodar, Jarmundi, Dhanwar, Panki, Dhanbad, and Bokaro.
The increased voter turnout in several key areas indicates a heightened level of political engagement among the electorate, which will add to the anticipation surrounding the results of this election.
