IMD issues weather alert for thunderstorms, gusty winds in Jamshedpur till April 12

Jamshedpur: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Jharkhand, forecasting a spell of thunderstorms, rainfall, and gusty winds across several districts starting today and continuing through April 12. The warning includes Jamshedpur, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela -Kharsawan, prompting local authorities to urge citizens to remain alert and take necessary precautions.

According to the IMD report, winds blowing at speeds between 30 and 40 km/h are expected to accompany thunderstorms and rainfall on April 8 and 9. A more intense weather system is predicted between April 10 and 12, during which wind speeds may surge up to 50 km/h, accompanied by hailstorms in isolated areas.

On April 8, affected districts include Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Lohardaga, Latehar, Khunti, Ranchi, and East Singhbhum, along with Seraikela -Kharsawan. Residents of these areas may witness brief but intense showers, thunder, and localized gusty conditions.

From April 10 onwards, the weather will intensify in certain regions. Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, and Latehar may experience 30 to 40 km/h winds, while Sahibganj, Pakur, Godda, Deoghar, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela -Kharsawan are likely to face winds reaching 40 to 50 km/h, possibly with rain and hailstorms.
