CEOs of various companies invited, 250 members to attend
Jamshedpur, April 17: Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) is geared up for the foundation day celebration on April 23. Several programmes will be organised during the week-long celebration. More than 250 members of IIMM and delegates will be present during the event which will conclude on April 30. Students meet and CEO meet is also scheduled during the programme. The week-long foundation day celebration will conclude at Institute of Engineers premises in Sakchi on April 30 were winners of various competitions will be awarded and cultural programme will also be staged. This was informed by National Vice President (East Region) Shambhu Shekhar, IIMM Jamshedpur Branch Chairman Rana Das and vice chairman Siddharth Dash. Addressing a press conference at Centre For Excellence on Saturday, Shambhu Shekhar said,” We are planning large scale celebration this time around as previous two years were marred by COVID. There are 400 life members of IIMM in Jamshedpur and more 150 members are present in Jamshedpur.”
Shambhu Shekhar further said that materials management professionals have reiterated their commitment towards the country and have pledged to take India to greater heights.
Supply chain management played vital role during the Covid pandemic and whole world has come to know about the significance of logistics as vaccination, supply of medicines, supply of medical oxygen were all dependent on supply chain and logistic.
After the establishment of Indian Institute of Materials Management in 1975, the institute has provided degree to thousands of students in the country under various courses on Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Shekhar added.
He went on to say that the institute offers courses certified by AICTE. Graduate Diploma in Materials Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Logistics are major courses in which thousands of students enroll every year. Apart from this, there are other courses which have been specially designed for working employees.
IIMM has 52 branches in India with more than 12,000 members. Also present at the press meet were Treasurer Naveen Kumar Singh, Sarosh Vazifdar, Course Coordinator and Administrator Ganesh Dutt Pandey and Dhirendra Nath Jha.
