Ichagarh witnesses peaceful polling

Chandil: Polling took place peacefully in Ichagarh Assembly segment for the Ranchi Lok Sabha polls on Thursday.

Voters showed enthusiasm and turned up right from 7 am onwards at the various booths. The polling in Ichagarh was 29 per cent till 11 am and it increased to 40 per cent by 1 pm.

Voters of Naxalite-hit areas including Turu, Ranka, Palna and Hensakocha under Chowka police station area also showed zeal.

In Hensakocha, polling per centage was 35 per cent till 11 am while in Ranka, it was 48 per cent by noon. Tight security arrangements were made at the various election booths in Ichagarh.

At Chandil senior All Jharkhand Students Union leader Mohammad Sadaul Haque cast his vote with his wife Padasum Ara.
