Mukul Mahato eyes Computer Science in top IIT

Jamshedpur, June 1: Students from Jamshedpur have once again brought laurels to the city with an impressive performance in the prestigious JEE Advanced examination conducted by IIT Madras.
Leading the success story is Mukul Mahato of Mango, who secured an All India Rank (AIR) 840, emerging as the Kolhan topper.
A resident of Shankosai Road No. 5 in Mango, Mukul scored 222 out of 360 marks, including 76 in Mathematics, 67 in Physics, and 74 in Chemistry.
Known for his academic excellence, he attributed his success to disciplined preparation, consistent revision, and regular practice of previous years’ question papers.
Mukul’s father, Himanshu Shekhar Mahato, is a teacher at Upgraded Middle School, Bandhugoda, Chandil, while his mother, Rita Sinha, teaches at SS Plus Two High School, Rajnagar.
Growing up in an education-oriented family provided him with a strong academic foundation and motivation.
He completed his Class X from Tagore Academy, Sakchi, and Class XII from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco.
Mukul prepared for JEE at Narayana Coaching Institute, Sakchi, and devoted around four hours daily to self-study in addition to coaching classes.
Aspiring to pursue Computer Science Engineering at one of India’s top five IITs, Mukul also nurtures a keen interest in sketching and painting.
Adding to Jamshedpur’s achievement, Sarthak Singh secured an impressive AIR 1018, further highlighting the city’s strong performance in one of the country’s toughest engineering entrance examinations.
