High alert in Jamshedpur ahead of President’s visit

Jamshedpur: With the arrival of the President, Droupadi Murmu, just days away, Jamshedpur and Adityapur have been placed on heightened administrative and security alert. Senior officials of the government and police conducted an intensive review of preparations on Tuesday, signalling zero tolerance for lapses during the high-profile visit scheduled for December 29.

Secretary, Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Jharkhand, Amitabh Kaushal, and Zonal IG Manoj Kaushik led a comprehensive coordination meeting at the Circuit House, bringing together top civil and police officials from East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts. Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum Karn Satyarthi, Deputy Commissioner Seraikela-Kharsawan Nitish Singh, SSP East Singhbhum Piyush Pandey, SP Seraikela-Kharsawan Mukesh Lunayat, and other senior officers attended the meeting.

The focus remained firmly on security and precision planning. Officers were directed to meticulously map the President’s travel routes, ensure smooth traffic flow, remove construction materials and roadside obstructions, install barricades at strategic locations, and deploy sufficient magistrates and police personnel. Emphasis was laid on rehearsals, force briefings, strict adherence to protocol, and declaring the entire movement corridor and programme venues as no-fly zones to prevent any aerial security threat.

After the meeting, the senior officials moved to the ground for physical inspections of key locations, including the programme venue at Karandih, NIT Jamshedpur, and the airport. The inspections reviewed security cover, law and order arrangements, and logistical preparedness, with clear instructions issued to complete all arrangements well within deadlines.

Rural SP Rishabh Garg, City SP Kumar Shivashish, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, officials from Adityapur Municipal Corporation and JNAC, the District Transport Officer, Traffic DSP, and officers from Seraikela-Kharsawan district were present during the inspection.

The administration underlined that seamless coordination among departments would be key to ensuring a dignified, secure, and incident-free visit of the Honorable President, with officials working round-the-clock to deliver a flawless programme.
