Jamshedpur : The three districts of Kolhan division, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan, will receive rains daily for the next five days. The Meteorological Department has also warned of thunderstorms during this period in many other areas besides the southern region of the state.
On Wednesday also, different areas of Kolhan including Lahunagri received thunderstorms after noon. Rain brought relief from the heat in the afternoon, but after that people were also disturbed by the humidity. After dusk, drizzle was started in many areas of the city. According to the Meteorological Department, the city has received 0.2 mm rainfall. During this time the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 and a minimum of 26.0 degree Celsius. According to the weather forecast, the Kolhan region will receive 252 mm of rainfall in the coming five days.
It will receive 80 mm rainfall in East Singhbhum district, 92 mm in West Singhbhum district and 80 mm in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. The Meteorological Department has also predicted thunderstorms in different places of the state, including Kolhan.
In this monsoon season, East Singhbhum district has received 15 percent more rainfall than normal since June, while West Singhbhum has recorded 6 percent and normal Seraikela-Kharsawan district 26 percent less rainfall. By the way, the entire state has received 11 percent less rainfall this year so far.
