Heavy rain expected in Jharkhand from 24 to 28 June

Jamshedpur, June 23: With the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand, the weather patterns are becoming increasingly active. Over the past 24 hours, several districts have experienced substantial rainfall. The highest rainfall was recorded in Kolebira, Simdega district, with approximately 80 mm of rainfall. Additionally, Giridih received 50 mm of rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall for several districts in the north-eastern part of the state including Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj on 24 and 25 June.

As per the Meteorological Center in Ranchi, heavy rainfall is anticipated in many districts of Santhal Pargana, Seraikela Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, and the surrounding areas on 26 June. Subsequently, on 27 and 28 June, heavy rainfall is expected in Ranchi, Giridih, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, and Koderma. A yellow alert has been issued in these regions, cautioning about thunder and strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour in some areas.

In Ranchi, the capital city, light to moderate rainfall is predicted on 24 and 25 June. During this period, temperatures are expected to range between a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius, with cloudy conditions prevailing.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that the monsoon winds originating from the Arabian Sea have approached near Kolhan region. Their impact is likely to be felt over the next few days. The continuous rainfall has provided relief to people suffering from the previous heatwave conditions. Across most districts, except for some areas in Palamu division, maximum temperatures have dropped below 40 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj recorded the highest temperature around 40 degrees Celsius.
