Jamshedpur, Feb 15: Hardeep Singh emerged victorious, while Amit Kumar Sinha faced defeat In the union by-election conducted at Tata Motors Old Canteen, Jamshedpur. The by-election, scheduled as per the previously announced program by Tata Motors Workers Union (TMWU), took place in constituency number TMLDU/050/(2022-24) on Thursday, with a secret ballot determining the outcome.
The two contenders, Amit Kumar Sinha and Hardeep Singh, vied for the union position, with a total of 135 voters casting their ballots. Out of these, 134 votes were deemed valid, while one vote was considered invalid. Hardeep Singh secured 78 votes, surpassing Amit Kumar Sinha, who received 56 votes.
The election was meticulously conducted under the supervision of the Election Steering Committee, with E Satish Kumar representing INTUC, Election Officer Vijay Kumar Sharma, and committee members Chidanand Khandai, Durgesh Kumar, Satyaprakash, and Gaurav.
Upon the announcement of the results, President Gurmeet Singh and General Secretary RK Singh extended their congratulations to the winning candidate, Hardeep Singh, for securing victory in the union by-election.
