Body of Jamshedpur youth recovered from pond

Chandil, Feb 15: The lifeless body of a 19-year-old youth, identified as Raju Mandal from Sonari, Jamshedpur, was recovered from a pond in Urmal, within the jurisdiction of Chowka police station, on Thursday. The young man had drowned while taking a bath in the pond on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite local divers’ efforts on Wednesday, they were unable to locate and rescue the drowned youth. Subsequently, on Thursday, the local police and administration enlisted the assistance of divers from Jamshedpur to retrieve the body from the pond.

Raju Mandal had come to Urmal to celebrate his birthday at the residence of his relative, Udit Mandal, who is a resident of Urmal. After successfully removing the body from the pond, the police took custody of it. Following the necessary documentation, the body was sent to Sadar Hospital Seraikela for post-mortem examination.
