Govt adding digital technology in education for student’s benefit: Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, February 28: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren claimed that the state government is taking steps to improve the education system in the state by incorporating new technologies in the school system.

Hemant Soren said these things while addressing the tablet distribution program among 28945 government primary schools in a function organized by the School Education and Literacy Department in Ranchi on Friday.

“Today the era has become digital. There is no sector left which is untouched by digitization. Digital services are also changing rapidly. Every day – digital services are being upgraded. One cannot keep away from digitalisation. In such a situation, it is better that you make yourself and the coming generation technically strong according to the time,” said Soren.

“Only when you are digital friendly will you be able to move forward,” said Soren, who also launched the school report card for quality education promotion and a mandatory 50-hour integrated-continuous capacity development program for teachers online.

The Chief Minister said that many concrete steps are being taken towards providing digital services to the government schools of the state. In this episode, a new chapter is being started today with the provision of tablets to primary schools.

“With this, all reporting work from attendance in schools will be done through digital medium. At the same time, the use of tablets will make it easier to monitor the work related to children’s studies, teachers’ training, supervision, biometric attendance and on that basis it will help a lot in improving the education system,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that today’s education system has been digitized on a large scale.

“Smart classes are running in schools. Digital educational materials are being used. Online coaching classes are going on. In such a situation, if our children are not digital friendly, then their path ahead will not be easy. They will have to face many challenges and problems at every step. Keeping this in mind, the government has started a campaign to provide quality education to the children studying in government schools and to strengthen them digitally,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister said that the government is encouraging the promising children of the state through various means so that they can move forward.

The Chief Minister said that the issue of digital services being affected in rural areas comes up again and again. The problem of digital connectivity creates hindrance in all types of work and services, due to which people face a lot of problems. In such a situation, the government will take steps towards installing mobile towers in all panchayats so that all government work done through digital medium can be conducted smoothly, easily and conveniently.
