Jamshedpur, April 10: Allegations of fraudulent activities by an unauthorized union at the Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant have caught the attention of the Governor of Jharkhand following a complaint lodged by the Telco Workers Union.
In response to the complaint, officials from the Telco Workers Union, including General Secretary Prakash Kumar, Vice President Akash Dubey, and member Harsh Vardhan, were summoned to Raj Bhavan for a meeting with the Governor. During the 45-minute discussion, the representatives detailed instances of malpractice, including the purported signing of a fake agreement on January 25 by the unauthorized union.
According to the Telco Workers Union, the unauthorized union allegedly orchestrated a fraudulent agreement for the regularisation of temporary workers, involving back wages amounting to over Rs. 1500 crore. This agreement, allegedly in contravention of the Bombay High Court’s orders on back wages, has raised concerns about collusion between corrupt officials of the Labor Department and the unauthorized union.
The representatives provided comprehensive information to the Governor regarding the individuals involved in the alleged fraudulent activities and their attempts to infringe upon the rights of workers.
In response to the revelations, the Governor has assured swift action and ordered an investigation into the matter.
