Jamshedpur, April 10: The investigation into the bomb incident behind MTC Mall in Adityapur has raised numerous questions regarding the intended targets and possible motives. While the police are refraining from openly naming suspects, speculation abounds within criminal circles.

Ajay Pratap Singh and Babu Das were purportedly the targets of the bomb attack, prompting scrutiny into their recent activities and associations. Ajay, primarily a businessman involved in supplying materials to builders, gained prominence in land brokerage in Anandpur. His burgeoning success attracted attention, particularly following a high-profile murder related to land brokerage in the same area.

Ajay formed alliances with individuals such as Babu Das, Vicky Nandi, Santosh Thapa, and Domenic Samson, accruing significant wealth through land brokerage deals. However, tensions arose when Ajay and Babu declined to cede control of their construction material business to Santosh Thapa’s associates.

The resurgence of Karthik Munda, previously evading authorities for 12 years, complicated matters. Learning that Ajay and Babu were leveraging his name in land brokerage without his involvement, Munda allied with Santosh Thapa to assert his influence.

Reports suggest a consolidation of criminal gangs, including Sagar Lohar, Karthik Munda, and Santosh Thapa, with operations allegedly coordinated from Nepal. This coalition is suspected of orchestrating the bomb incident targeting Ajay and Babu.

The involvement of notorious criminals like Bhatta Lohar and Moti Vishoi, known for their expertise in bomb attacks, adds complexity to the situation. Notably, Vicky Nandi, also a target in previous incidents, was reportedly seen with Ajay and Babu following Tuesday’s attack.

Recent clashes between Vicky Nandi and Moti Vishoi indicate ongoing tensions in the area, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining order and apprehending criminals, particularly those out on bail.

The police have initiated an investigation, but the complexity of the case poses a significant challenge.
