Jamshedpur teacher expelled from Kerala Public School Burmamines after alleged assault on student

Jamshedpur, April 10: An incident of alleged assault by a teacher on a student at Burmamines Kerala Public School in Jamshedpur has ignited fury among family members and sparked action from school authorities.

The altercation unfolded with ninth-grade student Vivek Raj Singh, who was reportedly subjected to multiple slaps by his teacher, identified as Tanmay, without apparent provocation. The distressing incident led to an uproar among Vivek’s family members, who promptly lodged a complaint with the police station in-charge.

According to Vivek’s mother, Savita Singh, her son sustained an injury beneath his eye due to the force of the teacher’s slaps. Notably, Vivek had previously undergone eye surgery, resulting in the placement of a copper plate beneath his eye. The assault exacerbated his condition, resulting in swelling beneath his eye.

In a subsequent meeting with the school principal on Tuesday morning, tensions escalated when the teacher allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with Vivek’s family members. Following deliberations, the school administration took decisive action by expelling the teacher from the institution.
