Jamshedpur: A gang was looted cash from heavy vehicles at Garabasa on Golmuri-station Road under Golmuri thana area past midnight. The criminals carrying fire-arms looted cash from as many as four truck drivers at gun point at the turning of Community Centre at Garabasa.
A truck driver who fell victim to the looters said three youths had stopped his truck by coming in front of the vehicle. ” We are in state of shock and was panicked to see criminals. They were holding boulders as waving their hands with boulders. As I stopped the vehicle, one of the three demanded to hand over whatever cash was with me. While the man was demanding money with a threatening voice, another youth fished out a pistol,” narrated the driver.
According to him , the criminals had looted as many as four truck drivers by following the same modus operandi and damaged windscreens of about half-a-dozen trucks the driver.
OC, Golmuri police station, Ranvijay Sharma said that no truck driver or anyone else lodged any complaint regarding the incidents of serial loots at Garabasa on Golmuri-Station Road.
Deputy superintendent of police (police control room), Arvind Kumar confirmed about some truck driver to have informed the police by dialling 100 past midnight. “A patrolling van had immediately rushed to the spot, but by that time the criminals had managed to escape. ,” said Kumar.
