Jamshedpur: The Friends of Tribals Society (FTS), Jamshedpur Chapter, recently launched a personal felicitation drive. This initiative recognizes the vital role of donors in supporting tribal education and rural welfare. Instead of a traditional ceremony, members visited supporters at their homes to express gratitude.
Personal Recognition for Major Donors
During the drive, the organization honored the families of Preeti and Vijay Mittal along with Anuradha and Kishan Sonthalia. FTS officials visited their residences to conduct a personal ceremony.
The delegation included several key leaders:
-
Rajesh Mittal (FTS President)
-
Sunil Bagrodia (Working President)
-
Rajesh Bakrewal (Joint Secretary)
-
Kiran Debuka (Women FTS President)
-
Abhishek Garg (FTS Jamshedpur Secretary)
Commitment to Expanded Tribal Schooling
The meeting resulted in significant pledges for the upcoming academic year. Consequently, both the Mittal and Sonthalia families reaffirmed their commitment to the society’s mission. They pledged to fund more schools in the 2026–27 financial year than in previous years. This increased support aims to accelerate the educational empowerment of tribal communities across the region.
Sustainable and Cultural Tokens of Gratitude
In a unique gesture, FTS presented donors with eco-friendly artworks. These pieces are made from cow dung and depict cultural figures like Lord Rama and Sita. Furthermore, these artworks represent the “Swadeshi” vision of a self-reliant India.
An FTS-affiliated unit creates these pieces to promote environmental consciousness. By using these indigenous materials, the society highlights its dedication to both cultural values and sustainable development.
Future Plans for the Felicitation Campaign
The Jamshedpur chapter confirmed that this campaign is ongoing. Representatives plan to visit and honor every donor personally in the coming weeks. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to strengthen the bond between the organization and the supporters who make its social development work possible.
