Former Jamshedpur MP writes to CM Hemant on holding tax

Jamshedpur, May 20: Congress Working Committee’s permanent invitee member and former Jamshedpur MP, Dr Ajoy Kumar has written a letter to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren requesting him to withdraw the decision to levy the increased holding tax in the interest of the public.
In a press release issued on Friday, Dr. Ajay said that the holding tax has been increased by three to five  times by the Jharkhand government in the cabinet meeting in the past. Under this, there has been a lot of change in the tax of residential and commercial buildings. He said that now tax will be collected on the basis of circle rate which is not in the interest of the public. Dr Ajay said that the country is slowly coming back to its economic normalcy after two and a half years, but it will take a lot of time. Because there is still severe unemployment and businesses have suffered huge losses due to the lockdown and with these heavy taxes on people then the additional burden will increase on the people and it will create financial instability in their daily life.
