Former BJP MLA sentenced to 1 yr imprisonment 

Chaibasa, June 23: Former Kharsawan BJP MLA Mangal Singh Soy has been sentenced by the special court of MP-MLA of Chaibasa (West Singhbhum district).

He has been sentenced to one year’s imprisonment for the crime of blocking the railway track at the railway station in Kharsawan.

The decision has just come in the case of a case filed about 12 years ago. A case was registered against him since November 11, 2011, on which the decision has just come. It is said that the railway track was blocked in Kharsawan demanding facilities from the railways. At that time Mangal Singh Soy was the MLA from there.

Mangal Singh Soy was given ticket by the BJP when Arjun Munda was contesting the Parliament elections. While being an MLA, he had blocked platform number 7 of Kharsawan railway station, due to which many trains could not run. In this case, a case was filed on behalf of the Railways. Now he was sentenced to one year in this case.
