Food safety team inspects outlets at puja pandals in Seraikela

Seraikela, October 16: During the festive season, the food safety team inspected the food shops and vendors set up around the Durga Puja pandals of Rajkharsawan and Kharsawan for food safety.

On the spot checking of oil used for filtering salty was done by district food safety officer Dr Moin Akhtar and assistant inspector Ghanpat Mahto on this occasion.

It was told by Ghanpat Mahto that in most of the hotels of Rajkharsawan the dyes used in clothes were being used in the food items. All the small hotels and hawkers admitted to using wrong colors due to lack of information.

Everyone was told how to recognize the colors on the spot by the food testing team. And allowed to use permitted color in limited quantity. They were told that the in the license number issued under FSSAI the name of the permitted colours have been mentioned.

They were told that the use of wrong colors increases the risk of liver and kidney diseases. The general public was also appealed to avoid eating colored food items to avoid health hazards.
