Jamshedpur, April 30: Fire broke out at the dialysis centre of MGM Hospital’s emergency ward on Saturday. No casualty was however reported in the incident, officials said.
Sources said flames erupted from the main switch board of the dialysis centre as a result of electrical short circuit. Hearing the loud noise, the patients and few hospital staff ran here and there in panic. One of the staff used a fire extinguisher to douse the fire. A fire tender was also called in from Golmuri Fire Station. By the time it reached the hospital, the fire had been controlled, officials said.
The hospital superintendent Dr Arun Kumar reached the emergency ward to inquire about the incident. He said no damage was caused by the fire as the hospital staff had acted promptly and wisely.
