Jamshedpur, Nov 16: An FIR has been registered against eight individuals in connection with a family-related dispute involving assault and outrage of modesty near the Chhota Shiv Temple in Pradhan Tola, Bagbera.
The case was lodged following a court directive after the complainant first submitted an application before the court.
Those named in the FIR include Abhijeet Mishra alias Bholu, Abhay Mishra alias Chintu, Shubha Devi and Champa Devi of Pradhan Tola, as well as Preeti Mishra alias Mud, Sudhir Kumar Mishra of Harharguttu Krishnapuri, and Mohan Ojha and Rupa Ojha of Yashodanagar, Govindpur.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred between May 27 and June 20, 2024, during which tensions escalated over a shop-related dispute.
The victim alleged that all the accused assaulted her, outraged her modesty, and forcibly broke the lock of her shop before taking money kept inside.
Terming the matter serious, she sought court intervention.
Following the court’s order, Bagbera police registered the case under relevant sections.
The station in-charge said that the investigation has begun, with statements from both parties being recorded and facts related to the spot being verified.
Officials added that necessary legal action will be taken once the investigation is completed.
