Enrollment must start soon in all three medical colleges: Dr Ajoy

Jamshedpur, Oct 23: Former Jamshedpur MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar has written to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren requesting him to start enrollment in three medical colleges of Jharkhand at the earliest.

Dr Kumar said in the letter that three new medical colleges have been set up Jharkhand at Palamu, Hazaribagh and Dumka, but due to lack of basic requirements in these colleges last year 2020 NMC refused to start enrollment. When the matter of enrollment in the session 2019-20 was going on, the three medical colleges of NMC had informed the government about the shortcomings. But till date those shortcomings have not been removed, due to which NMC has put on hold the nomination in 2021-22 also.
There are 300 MBBS seats in Hazaribagh, Dumka and Palamu Medical Colleges, which is fifty percent of the total MBBS seats in the state. As a result, the number of MBBS seats in Jharkhand has come down drastically this year.
