Enhanced passenger information system at Tatanagar Station

Jamshedpur, August 26: Tatanagar station is set to improve passenger convenience with new measures for better train information. Starting immediately, the coach indicator will remain active for the entire duration that a train is stationed at the platform, allowing passengers to easily identify their train’s location. Additionally, announcements will be continuously made from the inquiry centre regarding the train’s platform and status.

This decision follows an inspection by Senior DCM Aditya Chaudhary from the Chakradharpur division, who noted that the coach indicator previously operated for only half an hour, leading to confusion, especially when trains are delayed or rescheduled. The system will now run for one hour to accommodate longer waits.

In response to frequent delays and changes, announcements for trains running on various routes will now include updates about altered schedules and platform assignments, reducing the need for passengers to visit the inquiry centre. This improvement aims to alleviate overcrowding at the inquiry center and enhance passenger experience. 

New MEMU train to connect Tatanagar and Bokaro

Jamshedpur, August 26: A new MEMU train will soon enhance connectivity between Tatanagar and Bokaro, traveling via Muri and Suisa. The decision, approved by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, follows a request from Ranchi MP and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth. This new service will add to the existing options for passengers, who currently rely on Purushottam, Nilanchal, Rajdhani, Jallianwala Bagh Express, and Jhargram-Dhanbad MEMU trains.

The introduction of the Tatanagar-Bokaro MEMU train is expected to improve daily commuting for passengers from Kolhan and neighbouring districts. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions about running a fast MEMU train from Chaibasa to Ranchi and a nighttime MEMU service from Tatanagar to Chaibasa, which would further benefit the region’s transport network.
