Jamshedpur, Aug 31: DBMS Kadma High School hosted an English poetry recitation competition in its auditorium, with participants ranging from nursery to 12th grade. The event, themed around positivity, featured a variety of segments, including solo and group poetry recitations, interviews, story readings, and TedTalk presentations.
The program commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony by members of the school management committee, setting a celebratory tone for the day. Esteemed judges for the event included Tania Das, Sujata Mukherjee, and Jasmeet Kaur Reki, all distinguished educators in the city. Under the guidance of Suparna Rai, Head of the English Department, the event unfolded smoothly, captivating the audience with the students’ performances.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students, who impressed the judges with their engaging and well-prepared presentations. The event was attended by the Management Committee Secretary Anita Ramakrishna, Treasurer Bhuvana Krishnan, Joint Treasurer Aruna Ravi, Principal Gurpreet Bhamra, Vice Principals Suparna Rai and S. Sheerin, as well as coordinators, teachers, parents, and students.
The winners of the various segments were announced at the end of the competition. In the group poetry recitation category, the winners were Nursery: B, L.K.G.: A, 1st Grade: C, and 4th Grade: B. For the solo poetry recitation in Classes 5-8, Priyashi Ghosh secured first place, followed by Asmita Chakraborty in second, and Devank Satpati in third. In the story reading competition for Classes 7-8, Shreya Raj Jha took first place, with Almas Qaiser and Mayank Tripathi coming in second and third, respectively. The interview contest for Classes 9-10 was won by Shahid Khan and Subhashini Singh, with Iqra Ariz and Ayush in second, and Soja and Shubhashree in third. Finally, the TedTalk competition for Classes 11-12 saw Nandini Sharma take the top spot, followed by Arshita Dubey and Sumedha Patnaik in second and third places.
