Politics is my service, not a livelihood: Dr. Ajoy Kumar

Jamshedpur, August 31: In a fiery response to recent political accusations, former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar has fiercely defended his dedication to public service, declaring that politics for him is a mission of service rather than a career for personal gain. Addressing the media on Saturday, Dr. Kumar launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders, particularly targeting Arjun Munda and Saryu Roy.

“Let me make it crystal clear: politics is not a means to earn a livelihood for me—it’s my service to the people,” Dr. Kumar asserted with conviction. He emphasized that his commitment to aiding the community has always been unwavering, even when it doesn’t make the headlines. “The reason Ajoy Kumar remains in the hearts of Jamshedpur residents is that I stand with them in every joy and sorrow. This dedication is my true reward.”

Dr. Kumar accused BJP leaders of deceit and misrepresentation, especially focusing on Arjun Munda’s complaint to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) about alleged illegal constructions on the Swarnarekha riverbed. “Why did Saryu Roy keep the fact that NGT’s application number 145/2023 was based on Munda’s complaint a secret?” Dr. Kumar demanded. He criticized Roy for failing to address the issue in the Jharkhand Assembly and not engaging with the state government before filing the complaint.

“Roy’s silence and Munda’s hidden agenda are blatant attempts to mislead the public,” Dr. Kumar charged. “If you have the courage, Saryu Roy, face the people directly instead of hiding behind Facebook lives. Chief Minister Hemant Soren must act against this blatant BJP manipulation.”
