Jamshedpur, July 11: A car hit an auto near RD Tata roundabout under Golmuri police station on Tuesday, injuring eight people, including three children. The auto overturned on the middle of the road after the collision. The angry locals pelted stones at the car, but the driver managed to escape with the vehicle.
The injured were identified as Naushad Alam, Warisha Naushad, Mujeeb, Reshma Khatun, Shamshad Alam and three children from the same family. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Naushad said that he and his family were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony at his sister’s house in Asansol. They had to catch a train from the station. He said that the car hit their auto from behind and caused the accident.
The police have registered a case and are looking for the car driver. They have also collected CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle. They have appealed to the public to share any information about the incident.
