ED urges law and order maintenance during CM’s interrogation in Land Scam Case

Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is set to interrogate Chief Minister Hemant Soren on January 20 regarding the ongoing land scam case. In anticipation of the event, the ED has addressed concerns over maintaining law and order during the interrogation, having written letters to the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), and Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Thursday.
The letter also specifically targets the Ranchi SSP, emphasizing the importance of a secure environment during the investigative process. Responding to the communication from the ED, the police have heightened security measures around the CM House and the ED’s Ranchi zonal office. Special arrangements, including the provision of a security escort from the ED office to the CM House, have been made for the ED officers tasked with questioning the Chief Minister.
Scheduled to commence at 12 noon, the interrogation follows the Chief Minister’s response to the eighth summons, wherein he informed the ED team of their authorization to visit the CM residence on January 20 for recording his statement.
